The answer is ‘Trinadora.’ Our music is a mélange of standards and original compositions in genres that include jazz, blues, classic country, early rock-n-roll, and just about any other ingredient you can think of. We season our vocals with keyboard, ocarina, concertina, harmonica, and guitar accompaniment. Curious about our name? Our duo is named for Janel's ocarina and Ron's guitar. A 'trinadora' is a bird native to Argentina, known for its unique song filled with trills. In Peruvian slang, 'trinadora' means 'guitar.' The word 'trinadora' is Spanish and derives from the verb 'trinar' which means 'to trill.'

Do you remember your first sip of coffee? Chances are you either had a great experience, or you pursed your lips and wondered ‘how can adults drink this?’ When I was in college I would carry my own coffee creamer around in my backpack. I carried it around so that I could tolerate the taste of university java. I would pour some into my cup, and then other’s cups as well. I did not know it at the time, but I was building community. A space where conversations took place, stories shared, testimony’s heard. All centered around, coffee. Cafè Amorè was created between my shifts as a police officer. My appreciation for coffee has grown exponentially through the police academy, working nights, and mommying to my joy filled little human I get to call, my son. Like Jesus, coffee has provided me a safe place to go when I need a break, or a boost of energy to drive my purpose.  Cafè Amorè will be collaborating with local non-profit agencies to provide survivors of trauma, domestic violence, and substance abuse a chance to work voluntarily to gain work experience. As a police officer, I have had many interactions with survivors of such. It would be ignorant of myself to believe the interactions alone, would be enough to motivate survivors to rebuild their lives with positive relationships, and begin anew. It simply does not work that way. It takes time and consistency, as many survivors of trauma or addiction relapse to their previous lifestyles within the first year. Cafè Amorè is more than a place of employment that serves phenomenal lattès. It is a place where everyone has a seat at the table.That’s the purpose of Cafè Amorè. A safe haven where community is built on principles of: self-love, healing, authenticity, and rebuilding. So many of us have survived strongholds on our lives that have left us feeling defeated, unloved, or invaluable. The reality is, you, are welcome at Cafè Amorè. Together we will grow sipping one lattè at a time.

Our Northern Illinois chapter is a friendly mix of couples and singles of all levels, from beginner to competitor. The general public is warmly invited to attend all of our events. 4th Saturday Ballroom Dance in Belvidere – every fourth Saturday of the month we hold a dance at the beautiful Community Building Complex of Boone County (Belvidere Community Center), 111 W. 1st St, Belvidere, IL. We start with a one hour lesson at 7:00, general dancing begins at 8:00. Mixers and exhibitions take place throughout the evening. (Note - the date will be moved if the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas Eve/Day. College of Medicine Since 1972, the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford has focused on developing an optimal learning environment for training healthcare professionals, conducting innovative research and improving the health and wellness of our society. Academic programs include Doctor of Medicine, Rural Medical Education Program, Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology, Family Medicine Residency and Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. Patients can get university-level family health care at the L.P. Johnson Family Health Center on State Street in Rockford and at the UI Health Rochelle Family Health Center. College of Nursing The UIC College of Nursing Rockford Regional Program opened in 1992. The nursing regional site offers access to a wide variety of graduate programs in diverse specialties. In addition to several master’s programs, the program offers the Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Classes are offered in a variety of formats – in person, videoconference and online. Clinical experiences are arranged and supervised by faculty at a variety of sites in and around the Rockford area. College of Pharmacy In a direct response to the continuing shortage of pharmacists in Illinois, the College of Pharmacy created its Rockford regional program. The first class of students was admitted in 2010 and will complete all four years of pharmacy education on the Rockford campus and at clerkship sites throughout the state. Students in the Rockford program will complete all of the same coursework as students on the Chicago campus. Select students from rural backgrounds will be admitted to the rural pharmacy (RPharm) program, training with medical students from the College of Medicine at Rockford Rural Medical Education (RMED) program.

This type of competition events requires that you hold a valid competition license from Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (http://mcscc.org ) or another recognized sanctioning body. The Wheel-to-Wheel sports car racing Championship Series has been the foundation for the Midwestern Councils racing program for over 50 years. The series features 10-12 race events per year held at the different tracks that Midwestern Council visits.Competition cars based on mass-produced street vehicles (Honda Civics to Corvettes) compete in four categories that include:Showroom Stock: Equally prepared street vehicles with virtually no modifications other then those required for safety.Improved Touring: Similar street prepared cars with performance improvements, while maintaining suitability for street use.Production and GT: These classes allow added levels of performance improvements to increase power and chassis dynamics.Formula and Sports Racer: There are several classes for single-seat, purpose built race cars, as well as classes for both single and dual seat sports racers.Vintage / Historic: The goal of the Vintage historic Racing program is to provide a fun, safe venue for enjoyment of racing cars built and prepared to pre-1975 levels, and for driver that favor the thrill of a skillful drive and good competition.Careful stewarding is emphasized in this racing series, following the basic rules for complete car control throughout the event. Metal to metal contact is never acceptable and we use the 13-13 rule used by other Vintage Racing sanctioning bodies. Vintage/historic cars race in their own race group.

Pec Playhouse Theatre is a volunteer-run community theater in northern Illinois. Because we are volunteer-run, we do not have regular business hours. However, feel free to call us our leave a message here -- we are generally quick to respond to our patrons. Pec Playhouse Theatre exists as an educational and charitable organization dedicated to the study, practice, and production of theatre and the related arts. We strive to provide quality theatre programs and related events for the greater enjoyment and appreciation of the people of Pecatonica, its surrounding communities, and the general public. We provide opportunities and encouragement to anyone having an active interest in theatre and related arts, including students and other young people, to use their talents, energies and ideas in the accomplishment of our goals.Pecatonica is a quiet little town nestled in the beautiful countryside of Northern Illinois, a wonderful place to visit annual events, browse the antique shops and other local stores, away from the big city. Just off of U.S. Highway 20, Pecatonica is easily accessible via many routes. Pec Playhouse Theatre (PPT) was formed in 1991 by a group of Pecatonica High School students and recent graduates who wanted to continue performing in theater after high school. With the help of some supportive adults, PPT was organized and produced its first show, Out of the Frying Pan. This show was funded entirely by membership dues and proceeds from a car wash. In these early years, shows were performed mostly at Pecatonica High School and occasionally at the American Legion Hall. By 1994, PPT began producing summer musicals with The Wizard of Oz, which marked a new attendance record. In the summer of 1995, PPT mentored the newly-formed Byron Civic Theatre in presenting its first production, Annie Get Your Gun. PPT was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1997. In 1999, PPT became a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, making most contributions to PPT tax-deductible. Meanwhile, Pecatonica High School ended its theater program. So, in 1998, PPT produced You Can’t Take It With You as the first of what was to become an annual main-stage show featuring high school students. As time and space at the high school became increasingly scarce, PPT entered into an agreement in 1998 with the Pecatonica Heritage Museum to use space in their building complex. This arrangement allowed Pec Playhouse to expand their schedule to five shows per year. As the years went by, theater seats, air conditioning, heating, lights, sound equipment, and bathrooms were added to the facility. With the help of 2 amazing contributors, Pecatonica Pharmacy and George Anderson, and the support of German American State Bank, PPT was able to purchase the building in late 2004. In 2007 the donation of newer, more comfortable theater seats from a Rockford Memorial Hospital made the PPT theater experience even more enjoyable for our patrons. Since that time, volunteers and friends of PPT continue to work to improve the building and the theater - one amazing project being the complete remodeling of the former doctor's apartment upstairs into a wonderful dressing and make-up area. We’re grateful to all of our friends and volunteers who have donated their time and energy over the years, and to our patrons and donors who keep us going. We are excited about the future of Pec Playhouse, and hope you’ll want to be a part!
