The INCrowd Networking Group launched it's first meeting in April 2008. - We spent a lot of time investigating area networking groups that we would be interested in joining. It was soon discovered that we either could not join due to membership guidelines (only one member per profession) or they were too costly. - We hosted and organized an 'out-of-the-box' Commercial Property Open House in the end of 2008. It was such a great event - people kept asking when we would be hosting the next one. The focus of the INCrowd is to promote networking and businesses in the stateline area. Unlike many of the groups in existence, there are no fees for membership and no restrictions regarding the number of professionals in like business fields. The INCrowd meets 11 times a year, the last Thursday of the month - January through October. The 11th and final meeting of the year is held in the beginning of December and it is a group sponsored fund raising event, supporting the local community. The INCrowd meets at a different location on the last Thursday of each month from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. It is an open house forum - you may come and go as you like. Monthly INCrowd Sponsors open up their place of business for the event. They provide the group with their choice of refreshments, may offer door prizes and have the opportunity to take the floor to greet the group and promote their business. Enjoy networking with confident, like-minded business professionals!

Among the founders of Rockford's League was Julia Lathrop, a woman suffragist and founder of both the national and Illinois League of Women Voters. As early as 1926 when a discrepancy was found in the counting of votes, the League brought about the implementation of training for local election judges, a practice which continues today. Originally named the LWV of Winnebago County, the name was changed to LWV of Rockford in 1953 and to LWV of Greater Rockford in 1998.
