Happy National day ofSweden

Sunday, June 6, 2021

Tomorrow, June 6th is Sweden's National Day! It is a day filled with flags, songs, and good food together with family and friends. In 2004, the Swedish parliament voted to make it a public holiday. The King and Queen of Sweden take part in a ceremony at Skansen, Stockholm’s open-air museum, on the National Day. The yellow and blue Swedish flag is run up the mast, and children in traditional peasant costume present the royal couple with bouquets of summer flowers. Special ceremonies welcoming new Swedish citizens are also usually held around the country on National Day. (taken from Sweden.se article)We thank @LearnSwedishNowLLC for this list of fantastic Swedish recipes, history, the national song, and a link to the celebration at Skansen in Stockholm! Read about the celebration of The National Day: https://sweden.se/.../celebrat.../the-national-day-of-swedenhttps://www.skansen.se/en/swedish-national-dayFood and Menu for the Day:https://www.koket.se/nationaldagenSong and lyrics of The National Song:https://www.kungahuset.se/.../nationalsangen.4...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oGU863-BfQWatch the celebration live: https://www.svtplay.se/nationaldagenWe hope that this will make you feel like you are celebrating Sweden's National Day in Sweden!

Happy Swedish Mother's Day!Yes, Swedes celebrate Mother’s Day (which you might find surprising, not all countries do). However Mother’s Day in Sweden is always on the last Sunday in May. One could argue they are waiting a bit for better weather, or just trying to give it some space from Easter.Mother’s Day is celebrated the same way in Sweden as in other countries. You do something nice for your mother. It could be taking her to dinner, buying her flowers, or breakfast in bed. All mother’s appreciate Mother’s Day. So bring a little bit of Sweden into your home, and celebrate Mother’s Day twice!Article take from: https://www.swedishfreak.com/holiday/mothers-day/
