Our Northern Illinois chapter is a friendly mix of couples and singles of all levels, from beginner to competitor. The general public is warmly invited to attend all of our events. 4th Saturday Ballroom Dance in Belvidere – every fourth Saturday of the month we hold a dance at the beautiful Community Building Complex of Boone County (Belvidere Community Center), 111 W. 1st St, Belvidere, IL. We start with a one hour lesson at 7:00, general dancing begins at 8:00. Mixers and exhibitions take place throughout the evening. (Note - the date will be moved if the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas Eve/Day. Winnebago County CASA is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that advocates for abused and neglected children within the Juvenile Court system. Our trained volunteers are appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of children in the abuse and neglect court. Our obligation is to ensure that the children we represent will be visited at least monthly, and that their needs, desires and circumstances will be reported to the court at every scheduled hearing. The Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad Litem (CASA/GAL) will be the consistent person in the child’s life.

Through displays of early Rockford area maps, everyday artifacts, vintage clothing and more, visitors of all ages can learn about Old World customs and traditions. Historical photographs tell the stories of the earliest settlers who established factories near the old "waterpower district" and built their homes nearby. The Cottage is also one of only a handful of Swiss-style homes remaining in the United States and is located in the heart of Rockford, Illinois. The Greater Rockford Area Bush Masters is a non-for-profit organization for the promotion of the sport of disc golf. Our home course is Anna Page Park which has three great disc golf courses (compliments of the Rockford Park District) which our club helps to maintain. In addition to parking lot autocross events where you can compete against the clock in a very controlled environment, the Sports Car Club of Rockford also hoststhe following types of events at race tracks in the Midwest.Wheel-to-Wheel sports car racing is one of the areas that our members participate in. This type of competition events requires that you hold a valid competition license from Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (http://mcscc.org ) or another recognized sanctioning body. The Wheel-to-Wheel sports car racing Championship Series has been the foundation for the Midwestern Councils racing program for over 50 years. The series features 10-12 race events per year held at the different tracks that Midwestern Council visits.Competition cars based on mass-produced street vehicles (Honda Civics to Corvettes) compete in four categories that include:Showroom Stock: Equally prepared street vehicles with virtually no modifications other then those required for safety.Improved Touring: Similar street prepared cars with performance improvements, while maintaining suitability for street use.Production and GT: These classes allow added levels of performance improvements to increase power and chassis dynamics.Formula and Sports Racer: There are several classes for single-seat, purpose built race cars, as well as classes for both single and dual seat sports racers.Vintage / Historic: The goal of the Vintage historic Racing program is to provide a fun, safe venue for enjoyment of racing cars built and prepared to pre-1975 levels, and for driver that favor the thrill of a skillful drive and good competition.Careful stewarding is emphasized in this racing series, following the basic rules for complete car control throughout the event. Metal to metal contact is never acceptable and we use the 13-13 rule used by other Vintage Racing sanctioning bodies. Vintage/historic cars race in their own race group.
