info
Winnebago County CASA is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that advocates for abused and neglected children within the Juvenile Court system. Our trained volunteers are appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of children in the abuse and neglect court. Our obligation is to ensure that the children we represent will be visited at least monthly, and that their needs, desires and circumstances will be reported to the court at every scheduled hearing. The Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad Litem (CASA/GAL) will be the consistent person in the child’s life.

Nominations for what Rocks in the Rock River Valley have started and we need your help. We want everyone in the community to know who Winnebago County CASA is so that we can better serve all the children that need a CASA in the Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Court. Can you help by nominating us? This is a wonderful way for us to spread our message and cause. All you need to do is follow the link to nominate and ask your friends and family to help out. If we get enough votes we will move on to the voting stage. Last year (2020) we were a finalist thanks to your help. This year we want to be named Best Nonprofit in the Rock River Valley. We know we can do this together. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. In 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclimation, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. Today we honer and remember. #juneteenth #junteenth2021 #blackhistory #blackhistoryisamericanhistory

Hello Everyone! The Book Drive is going so well we've decided to extend the deadline! We will now be collecting money and book donations through June 30th. So far we have raised approximately $200 in monetary donations and 156 books have been donated! We have about 250 CASA kids so we still have a ways to go before we have enough books to give one to each child. I want to encourage everyone to consider purchasing a book from Usborne Books and More. They have many activity books that are both engaging and educational. Usborne Books has workbooks for every subject in school and can serve as reinforcement for what children have learned in school. You can buy these books and donate them to CASA or you can buy the books for children in your own family. Either way, 50% of the proceeds go to CASA! Below you will find the link to our PayPal, The Usborne Books and More shopping link created specifically for CASA's fundraiser, the flyer and the link to Usborne's book catalogue. Please continue to donate and spread the word! Thank you for all that you do!
