Our Northern Illinois chapter is a friendly mix of couples and singles of all levels, from beginner to competitor. The general public is warmly invited to attend all of our events. 4th Saturday Ballroom Dance in Belvidere – every fourth Saturday of the month we hold a dance at the beautiful Community Building Complex of Boone County (Belvidere Community Center), 111 W. 1st St, Belvidere, IL. We start with a one hour lesson at 7:00, general dancing begins at 8:00. Mixers and exhibitions take place throughout the evening. (Note - the date will be moved if the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas Eve/Day. Stronghold Center is a four-season retreat and camping center, operated by the Presbytery of Blackhawk, Presbyterian Church (USA). Our facilities include wilderness cabins, a camping area, dining and meeting rooms, and seven retreat houses able to accommodate 6-56 guests. Located in Oregon, IL, the beauty of nature exists in a variety of environments, all along bluffs overlooking the Rock River. Founded in 1963, Stronghold Center proudly continues to provide a variety of Christian and secular programming and events. Our unique programming includes summer camps for ages 6-18, challenge courses, and a Confirmation Retreat. In October, Stronghold hosts the annual Olde English Faire. Stronghold is also a great location for one-day seminars, business meetings and professional development programs, church picnics, and family reunions!

The Erlander Home Museum is a cultural centerpiece of Rockford's Swedish ancestry community,and a major asset of the Society. The Museum is located within the home which was built for John Erlander and his family in 1871, within the historic Haight Village of Rockford.Collections include Rockford-made furniture and many artifacts recalling Swedish immigration to northern Illinois and Rockford's Swedish heritage.The Museum is open Tuesday thru Friday by appointment only. The 2nd City Chorus was founded in 1996 and has earned the distinction as one of Rockford’s premier musical ensembles. As part of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Rockford Metro Chapter has competed in many Society competitions and has was won the Small Chorus champingship in the Illinois District as well as the Illinois District Most Entertaining Chorus! In June of 2017 the Barbershop Harmony Society made a radical decision and called it "Everyone in Harmony". This new vision allowed woman to join the Society as full members. The Illinois District Fall Contest crowed the 2nd City Chorus as the First Mixed Chorus Champiions. The men and women of the 2nd City Chorus come from all walks of life - we are teachers, engineers, salesmen, pilots, mechanics, counselors, doctors, nurses and retirees. The one thing we all have in common is a tremendous love for music in the Barbershop style! Under the direction of Joe Tomecek, the group meets every Tuesday evening between 7:00 and 9:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church Church located at the northeast corner of Highcrest and Alpine Streets in Rockford.  All singers, regardless of experience are welcome to visit and explore membership in our group!

Dog Paddle Beach is a canine swimming facility. It is a 21' round swimming pool which is inside so we swim all year round. The heated pool is 54" deep and the 90 degree water provides a relaxing comfortable environment. There is a self serve wash and dry station to use after swimming. Swimming is an excellent non-weight bearing, cardio exercise. Swimming is good for any dog who has just had ACL surgery, chronic arthritis, degenerative myelopathy, needs to loose weight, has too much energy, or just wants to have fun.

Pampered Pet offers a complete line of fine grooming services to bring out the best of appearance and personality in any breed. We work carefully, never rush, and do not overbook appointments. We always take our time and do it right. Kibble Korner was started in 2011 to help people in our community keep their pets. It is inside the Rock River Valley Food Pantry and accepts donations of dog and cat food and cat litter. It was started as a temporary pantry but the need is so great in our area that is needing more food than we can keep up with. We now have a website: kibblekorner.com, a Facebook page, and e-mail kibblekorner@gmail.com. You can donate directly to the pantry, through PayPal or send it to: Kibble Korner P.O. Box 10331, Loves Park, IL. 61131. We are now going throught about 2,000 pounds of food a month which cost about $500 a month and we are running out of money. There are several drop of location throughout Winnebago County and they are all listed on the website, if someone needs help by getting food from Kibble Korner the applications are also on the website. Pampered Pet had an idea last year to start a Pet Supply Resale Shop and the proceeds go to Kibble Korner. We accept any donation of new or gently used pet items. We will take small pet carriers, collars and leashes, coats and sweaters, toys, bowls, any cat items. $5.00 can keep a family pet in their home for a month instead of making them turn their pet into a shelter or rescue so every little bit helps.
