Carpenter's Place is a safe daytime drop-in center that aids chronically homeless adults, many of whom suffer from mental illness, substance abuse, or learning and emotional disabilities. Instead of simply providing a meal or bed for the night then sending the person back to the streets, CP case managers help each homeless guest develop and implement a comprehensive Life Recovery Plan through holistic case management. This includes assistance in obtaining a wide array of needed services, employment and housing. CP also manages five housing programs for special homeless populations including: U.S. Veterans; women; chronically homeless men and women; men who have successfully completed an in-house addiction program and upon release are homeless; and employment housing for homeless men in the CP job readiness program.

Welcome to our page! We are the Northern Illinois chapter of USA Dance (chapter #2039). Our Northern Illinois chapter is a friendly mix of couples and singles of all levels, from beginner to competitor. The general public is warmly invited to attend all of our events. 4th Saturday Ballroom Dance in Belvidere – every fourth Saturday of the month we hold a dance at the beautiful Community Building Complex of Boone County (Belvidere Community Center), 111 W. 1st St, Belvidere, IL. We start with a one hour lesson at 7:00, general dancing begins at 8:00. Mixers and exhibitions take place throughout the evening. (Note - the date will be moved if the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas Eve/Day. Also - the 4th Saturday of the month is not always the last Saturday of the month!) 2nd Saturday Ballroom Dance in Rockford – on the second Saturday of the month, September through November, and January through May in Rockford. 2nd Saturday dances are held at the Arthur Murray Studio, 7326 N. Dr. LaKimerly Coates is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and went on to study at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she graduated in 1996 with a Medical Doctorate. Dr. Coates completed her residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has practiced in various settings, and in 2002 began private practice, opening Rockford Dermatology, S.C. Dr. Coates has carefully chosen compassionate staff members and trained them to be knowledgeable and thorough. Williams Tree Farm has been family owned and operated for over 70 years. The farm was purchased in the 1940’s by Carlton and Amelia Williams and their son Wayne. Originally a dairy and hog farm, timbers were harvested from the farm and saw for what was known as The Wagon Wheel, a historic resort located in Rockton,IL. To replace those trees and for good stewardship of the land, the trees that we harvested where replaced with seedlings. When a winter storm occurred and Christmas trees where in short supply, some of those seedlings were harvested to meet that demand. Thus a new business was born. Christmas tree production was the focus for decades, with the farm shipping trees to local areas as well as sites in the suburbs of Chicago, but as the families began to look for experience based purchases, Williams Tree Farm led the industry in becoming a choose and cut farm. Now more then ever, making memories is what we are all about.

Honoring the Veterans of Winnebago County Since 1903. Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum is a living memorial to Veterans from all wars. It will serve as a constant reminder to the sacrifices given by brave men and women from Winnebago County and a way for generations to remember and learn about their lives. Open Tuesday through Friday from 9-4. Historic docent led tours on Tuesdays at 11 am and Wednesday at 1 pm.Weekends and group tours by appointment. Rentals available. This Memorial Hall, one of the first of it's kind in the state of Illinois to be dedicated to our veterans of all wars, was completed in the year 1903. The doors opened with the dedication ceremonies on June third of that year by our twenty - sixth president Theodore Roosevelt with these words: "No more fitting memorial could be erected to the men who fought, than a hall such as this..... a hall beautiful because of the uses to which it is consecrated" - Teddy Roosevelt 1903.

The 2nd City Chorus was founded in 1996 and has earned the distinction as one of Rockford’s premier musical ensembles. As part of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Rockford Metro Chapter has competed in many Society competitions and has was won the Small Chorus champingship in the Illinois District as well as the Illinois District Most Entertaining Chorus! In June of 2017 the Barbershop Harmony Society made a radical decision and called it "Everyone in Harmony". This new vision allowed woman to join the Society as full members. The Illinois District Fall Contest crowed the 2nd City Chorus as the First Mixed Chorus Champiions. The men and women of the 2nd City Chorus come from all walks of life - we are teachers, engineers, salesmen, pilots, mechanics, counselors, doctors, nurses and retirees. The one thing we all have in common is a tremendous love for music in the Barbershop style! Under the direction of Joe Tomecek, the group meets every Tuesday evening between 7:00 and 9:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church Church located at the northeast corner of Highcrest and Alpine Streets in Rockford.  All singers, regardless of experience are welcome to visit and explore membership in our group!

Pampered Pet offers a complete line of fine grooming services to bring out the best of appearance and personality in any breed. We work carefully, never rush, and do not overbook appointments. We always take our time and do it right. Kibble Korner was started in 2011 to help people in our community keep their pets. It is inside the Rock River Valley Food Pantry and accepts donations of dog and cat food and cat litter. It was started as a temporary pantry but the need is so great in our area that is needing more food than we can keep up with. We now have a website: kibblekorner.com, a Facebook page, and e-mail kibblekorner@gmail.com. You can donate directly to the pantry, through PayPal or send it to: Kibble Korner P.O. Box 10331, Loves Park, IL. 61131. We are now going throught about 2,000 pounds of food a month which cost about $500 a month and we are running out of money. There are several drop of location throughout Winnebago County and they are all listed on the website, if someone needs help by getting food from Kibble Korner the applications are also on the website. Pampered Pet had an idea last year to start a Pet Supply Resale Shop and the proceeds go to Kibble Korner. We accept any donation of new or gently used pet items. We will take small pet carriers, collars and leashes, coats and sweaters, toys, bowls, any cat items. $5.00 can keep a family pet in their home for a month instead of making them turn their pet into a shelter or rescue so every little bit helps.
