If you enjoy the outdoors, a Wisconsin River Overnight Paddle Trip has got to be on your to-do list! The Lower Wisconsin River is considered one of the best float river trips in the country. Wide, shallow, and sandy with a huge selection of sandbars, the Wisconsin River offers enjoyment for a wide range of activities. The section of river we will be paddling is located in the beautiful drift-less area of Southwest Wisconsin, home to an amazing amount of bird life. It is estimated that more than 250 species of migratory and 'permanent inhabitant' birds can be found along the Lower Wisconsin State River way. You will find a wonderful, flatwater paddling experience; with no dams and no rapids. This is one of the longest free-flowing, navigable stretches of river in the upper Midwest.


We will launch near Prairie du Chen for a two night camping experience on the sandbars with a mid-afternoon take out downstream on day three. We are purposely going in the middle of the week to avoid possible congestion as this section of the river is heavily paddled on weekends. There will be a pre-trip meeting at the store to review the gear list and set the itinerary for travel.
