Midway Village Museum will host the 8th annual The Great War: World War I at Midway Village, a World War I military re-enactment and one of the largest in the United States, that features over 225 reenactors portraying soldiers and civilians from the United States and Europe in the museum’s historic village. Visitors engage in this unique historic, immersive experience with the opportunity to enter encampments, tour a reproduction 150-yard trench system, and watch large-scale narrated battle reenactments.

Featured activities:

•​ World War I Tanks, including the FT-17 French tank, a replica

• ​Large scale World War I model airplane displays and flying demonstrations

• ​Explore a Trench Train, an exact replica of what is known as a Tin Turtle

•​ Displays of authentic World War I weapons, equipment, and artifacts

• ​Lectures throughout the day by military history professionals and experts

• ​Salvation Army Donut Lassies demonstrations

• ​Live musical performers with songs from the 1910s

• ​Militaria sales vendors with real and replicated World War I equipment, clothing, books and artifacts

• ​Delicious food available for purchase by local food vendors

Admission also can be purchased upon arrival to the event. Museum members will show member card upon entering the event. Rain or shine event – no refunds.

Free parking and ATMs are available at the event. Bags will be checked by security upon event entry. No pets allowed, service animals are permitted. Only registered reenactors may wear historic military uniforms.
