The National Day of Joy, which takes place every year on the last Wednesday in June, was established by Comfort Keepers in 2019 to help inspire and encourage people to experience joy and share it with others.

Why is a Day of Joy important? There's research to prove that JOY boosts our immune systems, fights stress and pain, and improves our chance of living a longer life. Joy is defined as a great sense of happiness and pleasure…and who doesn’t want more of that?

To celebrate, the Comfort Keepers of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin will be hosting a fun event to help connect Seniors with Children and Young Adults and encourage positive communication in our region. This will take place on Wednesday, June 28th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Anderson Gardens, 318 Spring Creek Rd., Rockford, IL. There will be entertainment, music, games, prizes, ice cream and refreshments. Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to bring a senior or a child/young adult.
