Join us on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Lockwood Park in Rockford, IL, for our annual Opening Day Celebration! This event marks the start of our "Saturdays on the Farm" series, offering a day filled with engaging activities, nature exploration, and memorable family experiences.


🎯 What to Expect

  1. Sarver Children’s Farm Barn Visits: Meet and interact with friendly farm animals.
  2. Pony Experience: For ages 2 and up, enjoy a 10-minute hands-on session with a pony or small horse. ($12 per person; advance reservations recommended)
  3. Wagon Rides: Take a scenic tractor-drawn wagon ride through the park's meadows and woods. ($6 per person; rides depart every 30 minutes)
  4. Horseback Trail Rides: For ages 8 and up, embark on a 45-minute guided trail ride through the park's peaceful woods. ($45 per person; reservations required)
  5. Derby-Themed Activities: Celebrate Kentucky Derby Day with themed games and activities. Fancy hats are encouraged!
  6. Picnic Areas: Enjoy a family picnic in designated areas throughout the park.​
