VISIT ATWOOD PARK YEAR-ROUND FOR FREE ACTIVITIES -- Rockford Park District's Seth B. Atwood Park is open every day year-round from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm, and welcomes the public to visit for free self-guided hikes at the scenic 334-acre park.

         Visitors can also view feeding time for the resident Birds of Prey every Saturday at 1:00 pm, as well as interact with volunteers of the facility’s award-winning Birds of Prey live exhibit, which offers up-close views of raptors, and one of the few accessible treehouses in Illinois.

         Atwood Center is also open to the public every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pmAtwood Center staff is on hand with a wealth of knowledge to share about the park and its rich history, as well as about its animal inhabitants, wide variety of ecosystems, and more. The community is invited to experience the park’s diversity, and explore the beauty of its woodlands, marsh, prairies, and river.

         This is one of many fun and free family-friendly activities offered by the Rockford Park District for the community to enjoy.          Safety has been and will continue to be a top priority for the Rockford Park District.
