Many people know Atwood Park for its natural beauty, but did you know that everything from fossils, clay pottery, and remnants of a former artillery range have also been found at Atwood? Come walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs, native woodland people, and soldiers training for WWI and WWII as we explore some of the historical sites that still remain at Atwood Park today!

Please wear closed-toed and closed-heeled shoes, and bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. All other required equipment will be provided.

Prior to visiting with us please be sure to complete our online waiver. All participants must have a waiver signed before they will be permitted to participate.

VIRTUAL OPTION

Join us on a virtual trip through time as we explore the historical aspects of Atwood Park! Staff will show you some of the fossils from Fossil Creek, some native woodland artifacts and replicas, and remnants of Camp Grant, a training camp for soldiers that was active during WWI and WWII. We will also take a guided tour of some of our structures that still remain at Atwood Park today from the Civilian Conservation Corps and Camp Grant! Let the past come to life in front of your very own eyes!
