Enjoy the fog rising off the river and the sounds of undisturbed nature as we go out for a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) paddle before most people have breakfast! While by no means an expert paddle, this would not be a good event for your first time on a board. That said, kids are welcome to join so long as they are experienced. We do have an Intro to SUP class on June 4 for those interested in acquiring the skills and confidence to safely and comfortably paddle so they can Gear Up and Head Out with us. This 2 hour event will meet up at the store at 7:00 AM. We will shuttle to SportsCore II, get outfitted, review some basic paddling tips and safety, then Head Out for a 1.5 hour paddle down the Rock River before taking out at the Prairie Street Brewhouse. You can expect to be back downtown by 9:00 or so. After we paddle those that are interested can head over to Wired Cafe for some coffee and breakfast. The price for this experience is $50 and includes SUP, paddle, PFD, shuttle, guide, instruction, and a good time. If you want to join but a kayak is more your thing, you are welcome to join us. But please keep in mind a kayak will paddle at a faster pace than an SUP. Price is $15 for those that have their own board. Coffee and breakfast at Wired is not included but I am sure they will have some good stuff waiting for us. To sign up for this experience please give us a call at 815-636-9066 or sign up below. Trip is limited to 10 participants, with a minimum of 3 required to paddle.
