Traditions are very much a part of Christmas, and many Christmas customs of today are traditions dating back to the Victorian-era from 1840 through the turn of the 20th century. Since the American Civil War took place during this time period of 1861 - 1865, President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln began many trends that are still seen in modern times.

Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a luncheon of the Lincolns' favorite foods while learning about customs and the origins of the past. This program will lift your holiday spirit!

Costumed presenters are the award-winning, professional re-enactors Max and Donna Daniels portraying the President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln.

Reservation numbers on Monday, December 7, will determine whether A Taste of the Lincoln’s Favorite Recipes will be held. The event needs a minimum of 20 attendees.

The lunch consists of the Lincolns' favorite meal of Chicken Fricasse, biscuits, potatoes and mixed vegetables. Dessert is a slice of Apple Pie.

The carryout lunch and dessert will be available for pickup at Machine Shed of Rockford before the presentation until 11:30 am. Attendees will watch the live broadcast of the one-hour presentation beginning at 1 pm via Zoom.
