You don't have to have a child to be labeled a mother. If you're caring for and sharing your love with a living creature, then guess what? You're a card-carrying mom. Our furry and four legged kiddos need help with potty training, puppy kindergarten, being driven to daycare or the dog park to hang out with their friends, cared for when they're ill, and reassured when they're scared. The time spent with our little ones may be shorter than that of a more conventional view of a mother, but that just makes it all the more precious. So take pride in being a dog mom! Your pup may not have the cash to buy a Mother's Day gift, but I'm sure they won't pass up a snuggle on the couch with you.
