It's time to brag about our awesome people! Since joining the firm in 2019, Jason has been an integral part of our team. Here's a little bit about him...

Jason was born and raised in Rockford, IL and attended Auburn High School where he was a three sport athlete in football, wrestling, and track.

Being from the Rockford area gives Jason a unique insight and ability to relate to individuals from his hometown. Jason went on to attend Northern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and political science. After graduation, Jason attended law school at NIU where he graduated with honors.

While in Law School, Jason gained valuable experience by working in the Winnebago County Public Defender’s office and continued to work there after graduating where he defended clients facing felony DUI and other serious traffic charges. Jason eventually went on to work at a civil firm in Rockford doing Workers’ Compensation defense. Jason was eager to get back into criminal law where he can do more to help protect the rights of individuals facing criminal charges.

He joined the Law Office of Jonathan James, LLC in late July, 2019 and is able to handle a wide range of criminal cases as well as representing individuals at Secretary of State license reinstatement hearings.

When not in court, Jason is a professor at Rock Valley College where he teaches classes in Criminal Law & Criminal Procedures.

Jason and his wife live in the Rockford area and have two children. In his spare time Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, fishing, and skydiving
