For more than 45 years, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has partnered with March of Dimes to bring awareness to local communities in regards to Premature births. Prematurity affects 1 out of 10 babies born in the United States today - a number that has steadily increased since 1981.

Premature birth (and its complications) is the leading cause of death in newborns; and babies who survive often have long-term health problems. Each November, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. participates in Prematurity Awareness Month to inform our communities, raise funds, and take action to help prevent Premature births. Rockford's local chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (Upsilon Chi Zeta Chapter) is lighting up the community in purple on November 18, 2020 in observance of Prematurity Awareness Month. We thank all those throughout the city who were able to support our Sorority and March of Dimes with this Initiative.
