~ Camp Grant Collection Thank You ~

A big thank you to all of you who donated to help Midway Village Museum acquire treasures from The Camp Grant Museum. The collection was auctioned off October 31-November 1, 2020. Thanks to generous donations from our community we were able to raise about $22,000 to save some of the artifacts that tell the story of Rockford’s Camp Grant.

We were able to win many of the items in which we were interested. Some of our favorite include the sign from the Camp Grant Bus Depot, aerial photos and maps of the camp in different years, the last flag to fly over Camp Grant, souvenir items, and LOTS of photos of soldiers and camp activities. The next step will be to move all the items to Midway Village Museum and then we will begin cataloguing the collection. Stay tuned for updates.
