Museum Offers Visitors Free Weekend Tours

Starting Saturday, October 31

Midway Village Museum will open its Victorian Village and Main Museum Center free to the public as a special way to say we are sorry for any frustrations visitors felt when trying to come out to the recent All Hallows' Eve Drive Thru special event. Overwhelming attendance, resulted in many visitors arriving to the museum and not being able to be a part of the day.

The museum staff extends this free opportunity to enjoy the museum, its campus and learn about Rockford's past as a way of telling the public we are listening to the feedback and comments associated with the All Hallows' Eve Drive Thru special event.

The museum is opening its doors for visitors to come and enjoy a free two-hour guided experience in both the Victorian Village and Main Museum Center.

Visitors will enjoy a seasonal guided tour and walk through the permanent exhibits inside the Main Museum Center, with an Interpreter in period costume discussing a variety of aspects of Rockford history including life during the years between 1890 to 1910. A history Interpreter will provide the entire two-hour tour.
