We never “horse” around when it comes to giving our followers their #flashbackfriday posts!

It is highly likely that one of the gentlemen in this photograph was Fred Moffatt, owner of Moffatt Cigar Company at 212 W. State Street and also owner of the two horses shown in this photograph. On the left, Mack F., a trotter, and on the right, D. Fay, a pacer. Horse racing was a very popular sport in Rockford. This photograph may have been taken at the "driving range" just north of the city limits or at the Fairgrounds.
