Kayak Class: Moving Water

Kayak Class: Moving Water

Take your boat control skills to the next level with a Moving Water Class. John Chase is a ACA certified instructor and author of a paddling exercise book called "Power to the Paddle: Exercises to Improve your Canoe and Kayak Paddling". He also has a website (http://www.paddlingexercises.com) dedicated to health and fitness for paddlers. Good chance that in addition to the paddling knowledge, you will come away with some good exercises to improve your paddling!Details: During this three-hour experience you will learn fundamental moving water skills that every safe river kayaker should know. Some of these are not encountered often, it at all, during our trips in the Stateline area but they are important skills to learn and will improve your ability to safely and confidently paddle on moving water, increasing the types of navigable water for your paddling trips. Both land and water instruction are a part of this learning experience. While taking our Intro to Kayak class is not a pre-requisite, this class is for paddlers with some experience and boat control skills. This is not s first time paddling experience. If you are not sure if you are experienced enough to participate please give us a call before signing up for this class. For more info or to register please visit https://bit.ly/2zpjCta

There are people that paid the ultimate price to protect our way of life and provide for our freedom. On this day and every day, we honor their sacrifice. I cannot even imagine the horrors of war, and because of them and the soldiers that return, I do not have to. Thank you.The soldiers that come home sometimes face obstacles reintegrating into normal day to day life. There are a lot of people and organizations dedicated to helping this transition. We are supporting one of them, Heroes on the Water, by holding a kayak giveaway with all ticket proceeds donated to help them in their mission to use the outdoors to provide therapeutic programs for veterans, active duty military, first responders, and their families. For more info or to purchase a ticket, please visit https://bit.ly/2LnvYV9. Thank you for your consideration.#GearUpHelpOut #NeverForget #ThankYou #Courage

Wisconsin River Kayak Camping

Wisconsin River Kayak Camping

If you enjoy the outdoors, a Wisconsin River Overnight Paddle Trip has got to be on your to-do list! The Lower Wisconsin River is considered one of the best float river trips in the country. Wide, shallow, and sandy with a huge selection of sandbars, the Wisconsin River offers enjoyment for a wide range of activities. The section of river we will be paddling is located in the beautiful drift-less area of Southwest Wisconsin, home to an amazing amount of bird life. It is estimated that more than 250 species of migratory and 'permanent inhabitant' birds can be found along the Lower Wisconsin State River way. You will find a wonderful, flatwater paddling experience; with no dams and no rapids. This is one of the longest free-flowing, navigable stretches of river in the upper Midwest. We will launch near Prairie du Chen for a two night camping experience on the sandbars with a mid-afternoon take out downstream on day three. We are purposely going in the middle of the week to avoid possible congestion as this section of the river is heavily paddled on weekends. There will be a pre-trip meeting at the store to review the gear list and set the itinerary for travel. For more info or to register please visit https://bit.ly/3cy3kfL.
