Quick Tips to Reduce the Landfills

I came across a few EASY tips to make changes that will keep out unnecessary trash out of our landfills.

1. Using glass containers instead of plastic ones for leftovers last longer and wash up easily in your dishwasher. For an extra boost, you can take these to restaurants (when we are allowed back) to take home your leftovers.

2. Make and take mason jars – mix things like salads, snacks or fruit in a glass mason jar. Extra perk - the ones from Pampered Chef come with a lid that will hold salad dressing. Compact, easy to carry. Fridge, freezer and dishwasher safe. It’s a win – win!

3. Assorted silicone lids stretch over your containers (even square ones) to keep food fresh. They wash up easily and are dishwasher safe. Great for the fridge, freezer or microwave. (Extra tip - It’s best to get the ones with the vent holes so steam can escape.)
