Raise your hand if you remember what's possibly the greatest April Fools pranks of all time - The Swiss Spaghetti Harvest!

In 1957, the BBC news show Panorama announced that due to a mild winter and the elimination of an insect problem, Swiss farmers were enjoying a bountiful spaghetti crop. They showed Swiss farmers pulling strands of spaghetti down from trees. The BBC received numerous phone calls from viewers wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. They were instructed to 'place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best.' The broadcast remains the most popular and widely acclaimed April Fool's Day hoax ever.
